Specialist credentials
Specialist credentials (BB, H, M, C, SH, MB, CG, DLM, PBT, CT) each have their own eligibility routes. Most require:

- Defined years of full-time experience in the specialty area
- Some require current certification in another ASCP credential
Application requirements for all credentials
- Completed online application via the ASCP BOC portal
- Official transcripts sent directly from your institution
- Programme director verification (accredited programme routes)
- Employer verification of experience (experience routes)
- Application fee payment
- Good standing declaration
Recertification requirements
ASCP BOC credentials must be renewed every 3 years through the Credential Maintenance Program (CMP), which requires a minimum number of continuing education credits across defined categories.
