Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data MedLabPrep collects and how we use it.
1. Information we collect
- Account details: name, email, and password hash.
- Study data: answers, scores, flashcard progress, and study preferences.
- Purchase records: transaction receipts from our payment processor.
- Usage data: pages visited, device type, and diagnostic logs.
2. How we use it
- Provide and personalise the study experience.
- Deliver adaptive analytics and progress tracking.
- Process payments and grant subscription access.
- Send transactional emails (account, purchase, security).
- Improve platform quality and detect abuse.
3. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with trusted infrastructure providers (authentication, database hosting, payment processing) strictly to operate the service.
3a. Advertising measurement (Meta)
We use the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API (Meta Platforms Ireland / Meta Platforms, Inc.) to measure which ads bring visitors to MedLabPrep and to improve ad delivery. Data shared: pages viewed, sign-up, trial start, checkout start, discount applications and purchases (amount, order ID), plus Meta browser cookies (_fbp/_fbc) and your browser user agent. Only if you accept advertising cookies do we also send a hashed (SHA-256) copy of your email and account ID so Meta can match purchases to ads. Hashing is not anonymisation.
In the EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland nothing is sent to Meta unless you click Accept in our cookie banner. We keep a record of your choice (time, notice version, country). You can withdraw or change it anytime via "Cookie settings" in the site footer; withdrawal stops further sharing immediately and clears stored Meta identifiers from your profile.
4. Data retention
We retain study data while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support@medlabprep.app.
5. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, secure authentication, and role-based access controls. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password.
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Contact us to exercise these rights.
