Step 2 — Create your ASCP account
- 1
Go to ascp.org
Click BOC Certification → Apply for Certification. You will need an ASCP account.
- 2
Select your credential
Choose the exact credential you are applying for (e.g. MLS(ASCP), MLT(ASCP), BB(ASCP)) and the eligibility route that applies to you.
- 3
Complete the application form
Fill in personal details, educational background and clinical experience. Most routes need official transcripts and programme director verification.
- 4
Pay the application fee
Fees are listed on ascp.org/boc and vary by credential and member status. Payment is required before review.
- 5
Submit supporting documents
Official transcripts must be sent directly from your institution. Some routes require employer verification of experience.
Step 3 — Wait for eligibility approval
ASCP BOC reviews your application and supporting documents. You will receive an Authorization to Test (ATT) letter by email when approved.
Step 4 — Schedule your exam
- 1
Go to Pearson VUE
Visit pearsonvue.com/ascp-boc and log in or create an account.
- 2
Find a test centre
Search by location. Pearson VUE has centres in all 50 US states and internationally for ASCPi candidates.
- 3
Select your date and time
Book early — popular dates fill quickly around peak graduation season (May–July).
- 4
Confirm your booking
Save the confirmation email; you need the confirmation number on exam day.
Exam day — what to bring
- Two forms of valid government-issued ID (one with a photo)
- Your Pearson VUE confirmation number
- Arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled time
- No personal items in the testing room (lockers provided)
